The Premier Issue, Winter 1997, is full of Teddy Bear delights. It features an extensive look at Polar Bears and white Teddies, including collectibles using the Polar Bear image.

Also included in this exciting issue are feature articles on Bear Artists, Jackie Morris and Betty Walsh. Also, a memorial for well known artist, Billee Henderson.

Antique lovers will be enticed by "Me and My Teddy Bear Coat", discussing mohair coats of the early 1900s, and Teddy Bear buttons. They are illustrated in rare postcards.

"Uniformed Bears" by Dee Hockenberry, covers Bears in various uniforms, including a 1940s Australian Berlex Bear, a 1907 American Rough Rider Bear, Merrythought's Guardsman series, some American Band members from the 1940s, and English Bobby by Arlesford, and of course, Smokey by Ideal.
